ETECSA Unveils the 2014 Yellow Pages Directory Printed by Excelencias’ Goldblack Investments

The Cuban population has today a new edition of the Yellow Pages telephone directory, printed by Black Gold Investments, SA , from the Excelencias Group company, dedicated to celebrate two decades of the establishment of Compañía de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba (ETECSA).

The product offers a greater volume of detailed information on emergency services, information for home and business, mobile and national and international long distance, among others. It also offers promotions of tourism services in Cuba, as well as the listing of individual businesses.

According to ETECSA Chief Director Luis Adolfo Iglesias, blue and white pages of this material include new institutional structures and this is something that will continue to happen as a result of the change of Cuban society.

"The addition of 23 organizations in the Green Pages, with full information on procedures, make this section the second most consulted section, after the Yellow Pages with the addition of new forms of non-state management," said Mr. Iglesias during the presentation of the Yellow Pages at the theater of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Cuba.

Iglesias recognized that this information increased the usefulness of the pages, a useful tool for daily work in the country. However, the challenges for the company are still many, particularly those oriented to sustainability communications on the island, the development of new services as they are becoming increasingly closer to the people.

The launch also celebrates the rich heritage of the first villages founded by Spanish settlers 500 years ago: Trinidad, Sancti Spiritus and Camagüey, the latter founded in 1514 under the name of Santa Maria del Puerto Principe.

At the official presentation, the vice president of the National Council of Monuments and Cultural Heritage, Nelson Acosta, thanked the support and underline that this effort serves to disseminate the island nation’s cultural heritage, as these settlements had relevance to the continent and marked the beginning of a process leading to the consolidation of the Cuban nationality.
