First DIHK Conference with New Forums for Trade Visitors Attending ITB Berlin 2008
A four-day conference on business travel, the ITB Business Travel Days, is being held from March 5 to 9, 2008 at the leading trade show for the world’s travel industry. Taking place for the fourth time, this event targets travel managers with executive responsibilities, as well as office managers, suppliers and newcomers to the business.
Business travel is a dynamic sector of the market with an enormous potential for growth. An average of 17,200 business trips are started every hour of the day in Germany, and last year the total rose to over 150 million.
Over a two day period during the ITB Business Travel Days the VDR (Institute for Business Travel Management) will be presenting a number of workshops dealing with the practical aspects of everyday work.
The section dealing with professional advancement will focus on the challenges of “cutting costs” and “quality assurance”. There will be panel discussions on subjects such as “Event Management” and “Essential Figures and Reporting in Travel Management.”
The ITB Berlin has acquired a new partners, the DIHK (German Chambers of Industry and Commerce). Travel experts from the DIHK will be addressing various issues concerning reservations, travel security and vehicle fleet management.
The “ITB Business Travel Partner” program provides a special logo for the stands of the leading domestic and international business travel suppliers, enabling anyone who is interested to quickly identify these particular exhibitors.
The ITB Business Travel Days are intended for anyone involved in planning or organizing business travel. Holders of trade visitors passes to the ITB Berlin are entitled to attend all the “ITB Business Travel Days” seminars free of charge.
The ITB Berlin Business Travel Days form part of the ITB Berlin Convention Market Trends & Innovation, with a record attendance in 2007 due to its excellent program with outstanding speakers and panel guests from business and politics. The world’s largest travel industry convention attracted a total of 9,000 trade visitors.
