Organizers of the Spanish International Tourism Fair (FITUR) are already marketing next year´s edition –scheduled from January 26 through 30, 2005- to celebrate the 25th birthday of the country´s number-one tradeshow.

The 2005 FITUR will unfold with a bang at the Juan Carlos I Fairgrounds´ ten pavilions, using up a total surface of 150,000 square yards. The silver anniversary will also include an all-out virtual revamping of the event´s official website.

This year´s FITUR set new record highs in attendance with 11,248 participants, up 12 percent from 2003, and 757 exhibitors from 170 countries. Furthermore, as many as 100,195 professionals and 110,614 visitors walked past the turnstiles, according to stats provided by the planners.

The Madrid Fair has plans to increase both the corporate and institutional turnout. With that goal in mind, organizers have just launched out a promotional campaign that zeroes in on a couple of basic elements: better service and professionalism on the one hand, and bigger international attendance on the other.

As to the renovation of FITUR´s official website (www.fituronline.com), there´ll be a new chat room to guarantee a channel of fluent communication between professional visitors and exhibitors. Thus, visitors will have the possibility of making appointments with other professionals and downloading information on products and services, the agenda of technical meetings and the FITUR daily newsletter.

Cashing in on the success of previous editions, the 2005 Madrid Fair will stick to such specialized sections as ACTIVE FITUR, FITUR KNOW HOW and FITUR RESIDENTIAL.

The Hall of Meetings and Incentive Travel (FITUR CONGRESS) is scheduled for January 24 and 25 at Pavilion No. 2.

The agenda of technical events will feature a number of lectures, seminars, round tables and all kinds of meetings for many of the world´s top travel industry professionals coming for the event.
