During the presentation of the 35th International Festival of the Caribbean, to be held here on July 3-9, the expert pointed out that both initiatives are going to be organized by that institution, within the framework of the celebration for the 500th anniversary of the village’s foundation.
Verges explained that this sort of team aimed at spreading deeply-rooted melodies among Caribbean people will count on the collaboration, among other artists, of Totó La Momposina, an outstanding Colombian singer that participated in the 33rd edition of the festival, which was precisely dedicated to her country.
He said that this group of popular fiestas that take place on the islands and other territories bathed by the Caribbean Sea are organized with the collaboration of the Caribbean States Association and its secretary, Alfonso Munera, announced it during his recent visit to this city.
