With another highly successful World Travel Market recently completed in London, the world´s attention now turns to another major world event on the travel industry´s calendar, IMEX, the meetings and events exhibition, held each year in Frankfurt, Germany.

IMEX 2006 will take place at the Messe Frankfurt convention center from May 30 to June 1 and should prove to be a busy three-day fair.

More than 3,000 exhibitors are expected to showcase their services, including tourist offices, major hotel groups, airlines, destination management companies, service providers, trade associations and technology experts from more than 140 countries.

IMEX is the world´s biggest annual show for the global market in the meetings, incentives, conventions and meetings (MICE) market, and IMEX 2006 is set to be the best yet.

The Association of Exhibition Organizers at an event in London recognized the importance of IMEX to the industry earlier this year with the award of the accolade, Best Visitor Experience, Trade Show.

The vast majority of IMEX attendees come from within Europe, but so important is this world event that it now attracts increasing numbers from all corners of the globe, including the Far East, the Americas and the Middle East.

Amongst the destinations taking the stand at IMEX in 2006 are Peru, Abu Dhabi and Kenya. In line with the Middle East market growth, Dubai and Jordan will have an increased presence.

South America will be well represented with bigger stands for Argentina, Chile and Brazil. From Europe, Germany will have a dominant position, naturally as the IMEX host country and the biggest market in Europe for hosting trade shows and conferences.

Spain will have one of the largest stands in the whole show, and eastern Europe countries including Hungary, Romania, Lithuania and Poland will have large stands in an effort to lure conference business their way.
