Gran Melia Puerto Rico Rebranded as Melia Coco Beach

Melia Hotels & Resorts rebranded the Gran Melia Puerto Rico as the Melia Coco Beach. The resort, a 30-minute drive east from San Juan, will remain open during a phased renovation project.

Current food and beverage offerings will be updated to include a buffet restaurant, a steakhouse and a Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant along with the Passion by Myrta Puerto Rican eatery, which has been a staple at the resort under the Gran Melia flag.

The refurbished convention center will be ready for business in December.

The Melia Coco Beach will upgrade 120 rooms to become part of The Level, a VIP experience that offers a private check-in and checkout lounge, exclusive room accommodations and amenities, six pool garden villas, a pool, preferential bookings at restaurants, concierge services and complimentary snacks and beverages during the day.

Room count for the resort will total 486 rooms, including the 120 Level rooms. Rates start at $149 per room, per night, double.
