Grenada to Get Two Major New Hotel Projects

The island of Grenada will soon be home to two new hotel projects, Grenada Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell announced in the 2015 budget address.

Work is about to commence on two new projects, Mitchell said: the Silver Sands hotel and the Riviera.

Both projects were first broached last year, when it was announced that Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris had purchased a large amount of beachfront property in the country.

Those purchases included the Silver Sands; last year, Sawiris was reported to have had interest in the Riviera property as well.

The latter is located between Camerhogne Park and the newly-debuted Radisson Grenada. Sawiris’ plans had included a total of three five-star hotels on the island.
