Greyhound Expands Bus Service to Mexico

Greyhound is already the largest provider of intercity bus transportation in North America, but the company has once again expanded its reach to include service in Mexico.

According to Greyhound, service to and from Mexico began on June 15 with 23 departures per day, connecting major cities like Monterrey, Nuevo Laredo, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas. The addition of new cities in Mexico brings the bus company’s total number of destinations internationally to around 3,800.

With the addition of the new routes, Greyhound becomes the first bus company based in the United States to operate domestic service within Mexico.

Greyhound CEO Dave Leach released a statement, saying, “Service in Mexico has long been an aspiration of Greyhound, making the launch an especially meaningful event. As an iconic American brand that has more than 100 years of experience providing the gold standard of bus travel to our customers, we’re looking forward to bringing our high-quality service, safety and convenience to Mexico.”

Greyhound passengers can expect big things from the private terminals that were recently built in both Monterrey and Nuevo Laredo. The company operates safe and clean terminals to make customers happy, and added amenities like free Wi-Fi and charging stations to keep them entertained.

Both Mexican terminals will also feature an abundance of free short-term parking spaces and paid long-term parking for those traveling for long periods of time. The buses themselves have also improved, including free on-board Wi-Fi, power outlets, leather seats, on-board restrooms and much more.
