Guayaquil Ready to Host International Tourism Fair

Guayaquil, Ecuador’s second-largest city, will soon be home to the 2004 International Tourism Fair scheduled from August 5 through 8 at the MAAC-Central Bank in the north side of the local 2000 Seawall.

As many as eighty countries have so far confirmed their professional participation in the event that will gather numerous airlines from the turf and overseas. Those carriers will equally help move attendants to Guayaquil and from there on to the four regions to be visited by experts: the Amazonian, Costa, Galapagos and Sierra.

The event is presented by a group of international tour operators interested in boosting up Ecuador as a travel destination in their own nations.

After previous fairs in Lima and La Paz, the past two editions took place in Barcelona, the latest from April 22 to 25 this year with a turnout of 67 countries, 1,300 tourism professionals and 207,000 visitors from all around the globe.

The International Tourism Fair opens its gates to corporate Ecuador, regional administrations and advertisement companies that will showcase their finest products, services and offers in pavilions and stands.
