Havana International Fair Gets Underway
The 23rd edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV) is now underway at its traditional venue, the EXPOCUBA Fairgrounds in the outskirts of the island nation´s capital.
Representatives from over 40 nations, including companies, enterprises and joint ventures, will be rubbing elbows with their Cuban counterparts from now until November 5.
Over the past 22 years, FIHAV has turned out to be a major tradeshow for companies and firms willing to either do business with Cuba or beef up their commercial ties with the mostly untapped Cuban market. Last year´s FIHAV churned out as many as $247 million worth of contracts and agreements.
Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, South Korea, China, France, Mexico, Venezuela, Japan, Spain, Jamaica, Portugal and the Dominican Republic are some of the largest delegations to this year´s FIHAV.
Professional visits will be available everyday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, while the general public could walk past the turnstiles Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
