Tourism management from both local and regional scopes, as well as the role to be played by tourism departments in each and every destination are points of discussion this week during the framework of the 13th Iberian American Tourism Symposium convened by the Havana Tourism Office.

The goal behind this effort is to clinch new useful exchanges for the tourist development of cities, municipalities and local tourism offices.

The symposium is sponsored by the Iberian American Organization of Inter-Municipal Cooperation and Havana’s People’s Power Office.

From the very beginning, these meetings have been marked by wide-ranging exchanges between Cuban and foreign experts in a number of possibilities that sway from municipal experience in the trade of tourism to the outlay of strategic plans designed for big cities and currently underway in such burgs as Mexico City, Guatemala City, Monterrey, Montevideo, Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon, among others.
