Iberostar Rolls Out Interactive App in Europe, Caribbean

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts launched an app for iOS and Android phones that is in operation at 10 of its hotels in Europe and the Caribbean and will be phased in at the rest of its properties throughout the year.
The app allows guests to chat in real time with the hotel staff via the e-concierge function, described as a digital butler service, to fulfill requests prior to arrival.
It also includes an interactive map with access to the hotel's services and facilities, including booking a table at the resort's restaurants, consulting the menu to order room service and requesting a late checkout. Users also have access to a timeline of various events and activities available each day.
The tool has the possibility of incorporating new functions, such as opening room doors and serving as a payment platform.
The app is available in English and Spanish and can be downloaded for free through the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
