The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) will host the first annual Tourism Outlook Seminar on Feb. 20 at the Hilton Hotel in Kingston. The seminar’s goal is to collaborate with local and international stakeholders within the tourism industry to discuss issues that are critical to Jamaica’s development and devise strategies to move the industry forward.

Prime Minister of Jamaica, Bruce Golding will deliver the keynote address. The one-day event has attracted a number of international participants. Issues relating to the growth of tourism in Jamaica and across the region will be examined in detail, highlighting in particular, and matters of concern to small and medium-sized enterprises.

The seminar was organized to coincide with the visit of Jean-Claude Baumgarten, President of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), who will speak to the economic impact of tourism in small and developing economies like Jamaica.
