Jamaica Makes Preps for Regional Meeting on Tourism Investment
Jamaica will play host to the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference (CHTIC) scheduled from May 10 to 12 in an effort to spur up a nonstop cash flow into the region. The event -held on an annual basis- will take place at the Ritz Carlton Rose Hall in Montego Bay on a tight agenda that includes presentations by experts on finance and tourist development.
The CHTIC is a new kind of event that seeks investments for the region´s travel industry and further exchanges among investors, government officials and hoteliers.
Jamaican Prime Minister Percival Patterson, who´s also chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), is expected to deliver a speech during the opening session.
Mr. Patterson indicated recently that there are countless opportunities in the region for strengthening collaboration; highlighting the travel products the Caribbean has to offer and moving ahead with integration efforts.
The conference is sponsored by the Caribbean Hotel Association, the Caribbean Tourism Organization, Jamaica´s Hotel & Tourism Association and the island nation´s Tourism Board, among other institutions.
