Karisma to Open Second Property in Jamaica

Karisma Hotels & Resorts, a major player in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, will continue its expansion into Jamaica, with the opening of a second resort in the country in 2016.

The announcement, among others, was made during the seventh annual Gourmet Inclusive Vacation Consultant (GIVC) Awards, which recognizes Karisma’s top-producing travel agents. It was held at El Dorado Royale and El Dorado Casitas Royale in the Riviera Maya.

The new Azul Beach Jamaica will be adjacent to the Azul Sensatori Jamaica, which opened last year, said Daniel Scheiman, Karisma’s senior business development manager for North America.

Featuring 150-plus suites, all with ocean views, the property will include three restaurants, four pools and several bars. “The best thing is that the rooms are exclusively for sale for the U.S. and Canadian markets,” said Scheiman.

In other significant developments, Scheiman said El Dorado Maroma in the Riviera Maya will debut 58 over-water infinity pool suites in mid-2015. “Every single one of them will have an infinity pool with a glass-bottom floor,” he said.
