Los Cabos Tourism Board Names Ruben Reachi Managing Director

Ruben Reachi, the former secretary of tourism for Baja California Sur, has assumed the top spot at the Los Cabos Tourism Board. Reachi, who held the elected position of secretary of tourism from April 2011 through June of this year, was appointed managing director of the tourism board.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue supporting the tourism industry in Baja California Sur as I take on this new role as the Los Cabos Tourism Board’s Managing Director,” said Reachi. “I look forward to working closely with the current team and helping the destination to continue its growth.”

As managing director, Reachi will be charged with managing and growing the destination’s tourism infrastructure, and developing and implementing a formidable array of programs to boost its tourism numbers.

During his term as secretary of tourism, Reachi oversaw the region’s tourism development and promotional strategies. He also served as coordinator of the Secretary of Tourism Association for the Pacific region, which, in addition to Baja California Sur, includes Sinaloa, Colima, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Michoacán and Baja California.

In March, the Los Cabos Tourism Board appointed Luis Palacios as its commercial director-chief commercial officer. Palacios formerly served as the executive director of the Baja California Sur State Tourism Board.
