Members of the Iberian-American Gastronomy Academy Received by the Dominican President

Dominican Republic’s President Danilo Medina received Friday members of the Iberian-American Gastronomy Academy and members of the local gastronomy academy.
Rafael Anson, president of the Iberian-American Gastronomy Academy, spoke about the meeting with President Medina in which plans to come up with a gastro-brand for the Dominican Republic were discussed.
He underscored the significance of gastronomy and its value for any country’s economy, something that in the case of Spain is becoming increasingly stronger with each passing day, he said.
“It’s so critical important to see President Medina’s interest in giving a boost to the Dominican Gastronomy Academy and see its development alongside healthcare, tourism and the economy of the country,” Mr. Anson said.
Mr. Anson was accompanied by Mr. Jose Carlos de Santiago, President and CEO of the Excelencias Group, and ambassador of the Iberian-American Gastronomy Academy.
