Mexico City getting ready for the World Tourism Exhibit

The organizing committee of the World Tourism Exhibit (WTE) called on all Mexican tourism-related companies and agencies to take advantage of the mayor league global competition this event, slated September 24th through 27th in Mexico City Banamex Center, will mean for all participants.

The Secretary of Tourism, Bertha Leticia Navarro Ochoa said that the WTE will gather “the best of the international tourism: wholesale and retail operators, travel agencies, tourism authorities, airlines, cruise companies, hotel chains, entertainment centers and other industry providers who will have the opportunity to establish important alliances for economic and social regional development”

Wendy Hesketh, representing the committee, announced that “the business opportunity for the Mexican tourism in the world market is gigantic and they counting on the attendance of more than 30 countries distributed in global pavilions from North, Center and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific basin. You will also find thematic new concept pavilions such as technology, service and products presentations, tourism education, gastronomy and health tourism”.

The countries which have already confirmed their participation are: Czech Republic, Spain and Germany from Europe; Turkey, Malaysia, Polynesia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines and Thailand from Asia; Canada and the United States from North America; Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and English-speaking Caribbean islands, from Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Hesketh also revealed that “Mexican tourism can take advantage of international professionals and executives to make business under quality world action program, the presence of high class personalities, food samples, product presentations and specialized conferences. “

WTE will offers the ideal place to establish business relations between service providers, companies and government organizations. It will be fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism of Mexico, The Ministry of Tourism of Mexico City, The Mexican Tourism Board as well as the chambers and associations that represent the different private companies that shape up the tourist industry, each one contributing to positioning Mexico as a major player in global tourism.
