Moscow International Travel & Tourism Fair Put Latin America on the Limelight
The 22nd edition of the Moscow International Travel & Tourism Fair came to a close this weekend in the Russian capital´s Exhibition Center with a turnout of 2,500 companies from 110 countries and thousands of visitors.
Experts and senior officials from the world travel industry highlighted the interest drawn by the Latin American nations, especially by the delegations of Cuba, Venezuela, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Brazil and Argentina.
Dania Puig, a delegate of Cuba´s Tourism Ministry to Moscow, pointed out this kind of exchange could clinch the outflow of Russian visitors to the island nation that last year tallied 18,000 vacationers from that outbound market.
Mrs. Puig went on to explain that tourism authorities in the Caribbean country expect to reel in as many as 20,000 Russian sunbathers in the course of 2005.
Sol y Son, Cubanacan, Sol Meliá and Havana Club were some of the Cuban companies and firms that attended the Moscow Travel Fair.
