The skyline of Punta del Este, Uruguay, will sport new buildings if the current plans of several corporate groups from the turf and overseas finally allowed these entrepreneurs to cut a deal for as many as $150 million.

One of the projects embraces the construction of a 35-story building, the tallest high-rise in the famous tourist circuit, for $40 million.

In the same breath, a local group of developers is making plans to build fairgrounds in a vacant lot next to El Jaguel Airport with the help of the Inter American Development Bank.

The Uruguayan tourist circuit is considered one of South America´s best-known beaches, with great spas, recreational centers and tourist attractions to choose from that have definitely helped put this destination on the map.

Lying some 84 miles east of Montevideo, Punta del Este is the travel destination of choice for Argentinean, Brazilian, Paraguayan, Chilean and European sunbathers.
