Nicaragua to Host Tenth Central American Congress on Tourism and Hotels

The University of Commercial Sciences, under the auspices of the Pan American Confederation of Hotels, Gastronomy and Tourism, will hold the Tenth Congress on Tourism and Hotels August 19 and 20 in Managua under a slogan reading "Tourism: Challenges of Today and Tomorrow."

The event will gather over 400 attendants likened to the travel industry in the Central American region, as well as a number of high-profile institutions such as colleges, hotels, restaurants, tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, investors, tourism chambers and many others.

The main objective behind this effort will be the strengthening of the local tourist sector through discussions of several related topics. Also at issue will be the Central American Free Trade Agreement with the U.S., the latest trends in travel demand and the development of sustainable tourist offers in keeping with new challenges derived from reshuffling policies that affect all sectors linked to the travel industry.

During all previous editions -the congress was first held over a decade ago- the event has come up with guidelines and action plans for good decision-making strategies within both the public and private sectors.
