Occidental El Embajador Joins Preferred Hotels

Occidental El Embajador, a hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, joined the Preferred Hotels & Resorts luxury collection. The landmark hotel, which opened in 1956, recently completed a major renovation, according to Jaime Buxo, managing director of Occidental Hotels & Resorts.

Still to open are new wellness-fitness-spa areas in March. Preferred's other property in the Dominican Republic is Casa de Campo in La Romana on the country's southeastern coast.

Occidental El Embajador bookings can be made via PreferredHotels.com now and with the PH code in GDSs starting Jan. 5.
