Over a Dozen Thousand Companies Sign Up for Madrid´s FITUR

As many as 12,000 companies and nearly 850 exhibitors have confirmed attendance at the 26th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) scheduled from January 25 to 29 in Madrid.

This massive turnout of both companies and exhibitors accounts for a 1 percent and 4.3 percent increments, respectively, from 2005.

According to Fernando Conte, chairman of the FITUR Organizing Committee, this year´s edition will feature nearly one million square feet (88,857 square meters), up 3.6 percent from 2005.

As far as the number of exhibitors are concerned, there´ll be 366 from overseas –little more than 43 percent of the total- for a whopping 7.6 percent increase compared to tge 25th tradeshow last year.

As many as 15 nations will make their official debut this time around, plus a trio of countries –Ivory Coast, the Philippines and Georgia- that didn´t attend last year´s FITUR edition.
