Panama City to Host Panama Gastronomica Culinary Expo

The international culinary expo Panama Gastronomica 2011 is scheduled for Sept. 1 to 3 in Panama City, offering attendees opportunities to learn, experience and enjoy the latest trends in gastronomy. The event will also include a Gastronomic Conference featuring renowned chefs from Panama and the United States, including Ecuadorian-American Jose Garces; Chef Wilo Benett from San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Brad Farmerie, Laurent Tourondel and Maricel Presilla from the U.S.

Panama Gastronomica 2011 is a reflection of the country’s growth in the culinary scene. With more than six culinary schools, new luxury hotels opening in the coming months and world-renowned chefs launching several new restaurants, Panama is becoming an international cuisine center.
