As part of a joint publicity strategy wielded by Guatemala and Panama, both nations will attend the 25th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2005) in Spain´s Madrid as active members of the colorful and rhythmic Caribbean delegation.

Under the “Central America, So Small… So Big” trademark, countries in the region seek to lure more tourists to their travel destinations. The Guatemalan entourage is planning a seminar to tackle travelers´ viewpoints on a variety of issues.

FITUR 2005, scheduled from January 26 through 30, will use up the 95,000 square yards of exhibition space at the IFEMA Fairgrounds with a projected record-setting number of participants.

In the case of Panama, FITUR 2005 will be the premier promotional event for the Panamanian Tourism Institute that also has plans in the offing to drop in on the Berlin International Tourism Marketplace, the Milan Tradeshow in Italy and the San Jose Travel Exposition in Costa Rica later this year.

The Tourism Showcase of the Colombia Travel Agencies & Tourism Association in Bogota, the London World Travel Market, the Buenos Aires International Travel Fair, and the Incentive Business Travel Meetings Industry in Spain´s Barcelona are other major events Panama will attend in the course of the ongoing year.
