Panama to Trumpet Investment during Event in the U.S.
Panama is bent on bringing investment to the country during the Panama Week 2004 scheduled to take place in Washington next November, informed Ricardo Eskildsen, chairman of the U.S.-Panama Corporate Council.
Mr. Eskildsen explained that the tenth edition of the Panama Week will feature a tight agenda full of topics dealing with world trade trends, tourism, transportation and telecommunication technology.
Tourism will be the opening issue on November 17. During the weeklong event, Panamanian entrepreneurs will get in touch with businesspeople from the American private sector.
"This won´t be a week to cut contracted deals, but rather to create a perfect atmosphere for investment opportunities," Mr. Eskildsen went on to say.
This time around, representatives from state-run companies, commercial institutions, defense contracting firms and the U.S. Congress will huddle with their Panamanian counterparts.
