PARLACEN calls for meeting on tourist development, integration

The Central American Parliamentary Tourism Commission (PARLACEN) summoned to attend the Sixth Forum of Tourism Integration and Development for Central America and the Dominican Republic where participants will assess such topics as health, terrorism and security.

Juana Paredes Frias, the commission chairwoman and PARLACEN representative for the Dominican Republic, explained the meeting will take place in Juan Dolio from August 27 to 29 this year.

Under the motto “Toward A Sustainable Model Of Tourist Integration,” the gathering intends to foster environmental public policies coupled with international financing and cooperation with a view to both develop and plan the leisure industry’s strategy.

The agenda includes the assessment of issues linked to preemptive practices aimed at clinching health and security, personnel training for a better handling of natural resources, the updating of international air transportation guidelines, immigration and integration policies.

The turnout will include exhibitors, reps from such specialized institutions as the World Tourism Organization, the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the Panamanian and Costa Rican tourism institutes.

The participating countries will be Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Taiwan and the Dominican Republic.
