Peace through Tourism Conference to Take Place in Australia
The Australia Chapter of the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT) will be holding its third Australian Conference on July 15 at the Avillion Hotel in Sydney.
The theme of this conference –Tourism: Agent for Peace?- follows two earlier Australian conferences in March 2003 and September 2004.
IIPT is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering travel and tourism initiatives that contribute to international understanding and cooperation, an improved quality of environment, the preservation of heritage and poverty reduction.
The focus of this conference will be an examination of the role of tourism as an agent for peace through travel companies, tourism organizations and those who work in the industry.
This conference is endorsed by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) and its CEO Mike Hatton will be one of the keynote speakers.
The Institute was founded in 1986 and is based on his vision of the world´s largest industry, travel and tourism, becoming the world´s first global peace industry and the belief that every traveler is potentially an “Ambassador for Peace.”
