Peru Travel Mart Will Open $25 Million Window of Business Opportunity
Organizers of the upcoming Peru Travel Market 2005, the South American country´s number-one tourism tradeshow, hope to meet the expectations of scores of businesspeople and rake in some $25 million worth of deals and contracts, the Peruvian National Tourism Chamber (CANATUR), one of the event´s top planners, reported this week.
CANATUR Chairman Carlos Canales explained this year´s event –scheduled from April 27 to May 1- will gather 150 tour operators from nearly two dozen countries in the cities of Lima and Iquitos.
This time around, the Peru Promotional Commission, the fair´s second sponsor, will invite fifty tour operators from untapped markets that are not yet selling the South American destination. The private sector has reportedly anted up a fifth of a million dollars for the tradeshow.
