The Dolphin Discoveries Group started out operations in Mexico back in 1995 and it picked the world-class destination of Cancun to build its first dolphin seaquarium. Today, that project has expanded to Vallarta and there are plans in the pipeline to take that attraction to other parts of the Aztec nation and the Caribbean.

The company´s Sales Corporate Manager in Mexico talked about those issues in this exclusive interview with Caribbean News Digital.

Q.- Can you tell us how this group came into being in the first place?

A.- This group is the result of two major investments, one chipped in by Michael Word and another one made by Mr. Glour, who thought of the possibility of presenting a show of marine mammals and taking that show to tourists visiting Mexico, especially those going to Cancun. So, in 1995 and with just a couple of dolphins and a pair of trainers we got the show on the road on Mujeres Island.

Q.- What major acquisitions has the company made in Mexico?

A.- Our latest acquisition was the Vallarta Marine Park that we renamed the Sea Life Park. The goal behind this effort is to give the lovely travel destination of Vallarta the possibility of having an additional attraction for tourists. We also have the intention of making this park one of the finest and most sought-after in the Americas.

Q.- What future investments do you have in store?

A.- As far as future investments are concerned, we´re taking aim at other travel destinations across Mexico. We equally want to expand our operations to other parts of the Caribbean –in addition to the seven locations we have right now- and very likely in the United States as well.

Q. What Caribbean countries have you considered for this expansion?

A.- I can´t answer that question right now because, as you might know, negotiations usually take a long time and it´ll be very unfair to mention a specific destination. I wish we could make that announcement six months from now.
