Honduras is no doubt one of Central America´s most sought-after and varied travel destinations. Only in the realm of ecotourism, the country is blessed with 48 national parks. And nobody knows this vast universe better than Mesoamerica Travel S.A.

That´s why this tour Honduras-based operator benefited so greatly from the latest edition of the Central America Travel Market. The following is an interview that Mrs. Carias gave to the readers of Caribbean News Digital.

CND: What has the Central America Travel Market meant to you?

PC: To Honduras, this has been a unique opportunity to put itself on the map, as well as to Central America as a region. Unity means strength and people know other Central American destinations. This is a great opportunity to take a peek at what Honduras has to offer to foreign travelers.

CND: As a tour operator, what do you make of the possibility of doing some multi-destination packages?

PC: This is the right time for us to showcase our allures before the international market, to the European, North American and South American markets. Honduras is in the heart of Central America and is provides quite a good option for travelers, tourists, birdwatchers and adventure seekers. In a word, Honduras has plenty of things to offer.

CND: What opportunities are you offering international tour operators in a bid to make them cut deals or work with you?

PC: Here in Honduras we´re linked to a baker´s dozen travel agencies. Each and every of those tour operators are committed to providing top-quality products, to giving immediate answers, to catering to their request as soon as possible. Efficiency is the name of the game when it comes to putting a country like Honduras on the tourist map. Any of those tour operators can offer that kind of service. Mesoamerica is for the most part an ecotourism-oriented company. In addition to that, Honduras is blessed with five different travel products: archeology, sun and sand, scuba diving, nature and colonial history.

CND: Within the field of ecotourism, what particular route or travel package singles your company out from the rest of the tour operators?

PC: We deal a lot with nature. We provide a route that stops at a number of national parks across the country. Honduras has 48 different national parks, and even though not all of them are open to the general public, the ones we sell offer trekking, birdwatching, snake hunting and orchid watching. But those packages can be combined with other options, whatever travelers might choose for their trips. The heart of the matter here is to allow visitors to get the best experience out of Honduras.
