Sandals Buys Saint Lucia Golf Club’s 18-Hole Course

Sandals Resorts International has agreed to buy St. Lucia's only 18-hole golf course, the Saint Lucia Golf Club. The acquisition is expected to close in the next 30 days, Sandals said.
"It's a beauty and the only game in town," said Sandals Chairman Butch Stewart of the par-71 course on the northern tip of the island.
The golf course will be renamed the Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club at Cap Estate. Sandals said it will start work on a new pool, tennis courts and restaurants as well as upgraded meeting facilities by this summer.
Stewart said he consulted with former golf pro Greg Norman before making the deal. Norman designed the championship course at Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas.
Sandals operates three resorts in Saint Lucia and will start construction on a fourth, Sandals LaSource Saint Lucia, by the end of the year.
