The city of Santiago de Cuba will live unforgettable moments on July 9-11 as its dwellers will share moments of happiness and celebration on the eve of the burg’s 500th anniversary and next to Santiago’s Friend Cities.

According to the organizers of Santiago’s Friend Cities, this exchange will call for peace, friendship and solidarity among peoples, as well as for the strengthening of collaboration ties.

The city of Santiago de Cuba, “the highly illustrious, highly noble and highly loyal Hero City of the Republic of Cuba, Cuba’s most Caribbean-like city, will open up its balconies, streets and squares to stage this promising meeting aimed at buttressing the development and wellbeing of its people.

The meeting proposes different themes and topics, including:

- Boosting cultural travel and the creation of cultural trails of great international impact.
- Safeguarding and recovering architectural heritage and urban development.
- Beefing up ties among Santiago-based societies in a bid to encourage, recover and spread the immaterial heritage.
