Santo Domingo Merengue Festival Coming in July

The Dominican Ministry of Tourism announced the Santo Domingo Merengue Festival is scheduled for July 24 to July 27.

According to the organizers, the program includes Tono Rosario, India Canela and Kinito Mendez on Thursday, 24 July; Fernando Villalona, Kico el Presidente and Banda Gorda on Friday, 25 July; Pochy Familia y la Coco Band, Querubanda and Eddy Herrera on Saturday, 26 July; and Sergio Vargas, Giovanny Planco and El Torito on Sunday, 27 July.

There will be a simultaneous presentation of merengue bands in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico for the closing night. Milly Quezada, Hermanos Rosario Grupo Mania, El Prodigio, Joseph Fonseca and Juan Castillo will perform in San Juan.
