Santo Domingo to play host to the Caribbean Tourism Marketplace
Over 200 expositors have gathered for the Seventh Caribbean Tourism Marketplace that got underway Tuesday at the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo with a view to spur up the region’s leisure industry.
The event included professional working sessions, presentations of tourist products and business rounds, among other activities.
Attendants will focus on congress tourism and the promotion of its cultural, sport and nature modalities.
Travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, ground transporters, hotels, insurance companies, cruises and product providers will take part in this year’s marketplace.
One aspect of the agenda worth underscoring is the so-called Presentation of the Caribbean Tourist Product that will allow each and every attending company to showcase their offers to a determined number of potential purchasers.
The opening working session was reserved for person-to-person professional contacts featuring the participation of both public and private enterprises.
The event’s program also includes such lectures as Tourism vs. War Against Iraq, Ecological and Farming Tourism: New Alternatives, and Negotiation Techniques and Strategies.
