Second Annual Caribbean Sales & Marketing Strategy
The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) teamed up on December 7 and 8 in Miami at the Downtown Hyatt Regency Hotel for the Second Annual Caribbean Sales & Marketing Strategy Conference, in which they welcomed a who’s who of companies and organizations that do business in the Caribbean.
Registrants ran the gamut, from CEOs, Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents of Sales & Marketing, Information Technology Officers and General Managers, to Regional Directors, Sales Managers and Marketing Coordinators.
Some of the boldface companies that attended the gathering were the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), the hotel and tourism associations of Aruba, Turks & Caicos and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as hotels and lodging companies such as Best Western International, Driftwood Hospitality Management, Hilton Caribbean, Holiday Inn and SuperClubs.
The two-day dynamic agenda –it included powerful keynotes by Chip Conley, Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace and Peter Yesawich- delved into a wide range of sales and marketing topics and tools, and addressed the differences and nuances for both hoteliers and tourism officials doing business in the Caribbean region.
“An interesting feature of this conference was the creative energy that resulted from the interaction between sales and marketing professionals at the top of their game and colleagues new to the hotel and tourism industry or new in a position that requires these competencies,” says Alec Sanguinetti, CHA director general and CEO.
