Shandong Province to Host Major China-Europe Tourism Forum

Organizers of the first ASEM Forum and Exhibition on Tourism Investment and Cooperation (ASETIC) announced it has chosen China´s Shandong province to host this year´s meet from October 19 to 22.

ASETIC aims to enhance relations between Asia and Europe by promoting investment and trade among its 39 member countries through exchange and cooperation in the tourism industry.

The forum, the largest to be hosted by China, will promote culture and tourism, feature exhibitions, investment and trade talks.

The four-day event will focus on development and sustainability of the tourism industry, investment policies and the environment, transnational mergers, transfers and acquisitions of company shares.

ASEM was launched in Singapore in 1996 as a forum for informal dialogue between Asian and European countries to exchange views and strengthen relations between the two continents.

Some of the 13 major Asian member countries include China, Japan and South Korea, while France, Germany and the United Kingdom are among the 25 major European member countries.
