Sol Meliá in full-swing Convention
Marketing director of Sol Meliá Gabriel Garcia walked in the Plenary Hall of the Plaza America Conference Center yesterday to present the Sol Meliá product. At the onset of his presentation, Mr. Garcia went through all the hits his company has scored since it began operating in Cuba and praised convention planners for drawing a bead on the tourist circuit of Holguin and incentive travel.
Supported by a slideshow of illustrating images, Mr. Garcia went on to highlight the attractions of the now much renovated and better-equipped Playa Pesquero Hotel in Holguin. He also mentioned other resorts like Sol Rio de Luna and Sol Rio de Mares that have equally added new conveniences of their own.
On the other hand, Mr. Garcia fingered Cuba as the nation with the largest number of Paradisus-style hotels as he touched on their architectural values, natural environment, comfort, top-notch service and other features of the Paradisus Varadero and Paradisus Meliá Rio de Oro are blessed with. Referring to the latter, he talked about the opening of 50 new grand deluxe cabanas plus the addition of a spa and a new royal service in December to mark the resort’s fifth anniversary.
Mr. Garcia laid bare Sol Meliá’s good-looking perspectives on the Jardines del Rey keys, a destination that’s absolutely making a difference for its unquestionable attractions and where Sol Meliá already owns 2,510 rooms and has others projects under construction. “With Meliá Santa Maria, this chain now owns 21 hotels in Cuba for a grand total of 9,000 rooms,” Mr. Garcia averred.
Finally, he pointed to some segments the hotel chain is stepping up more aggressively right now such as wedding and honeymoons, family tourism, incentive travel and vacation packages free of charge for kids.
Mr. Garcia wrapped things up by commending Cuban companies’ endeavor and enthusiasm Sol Meliá is doing business with (Gaviota S.A., Cubanacan and Gran Caribe) and saved a few minutes to underscore the island nation’s values as a safe destination brimming with one-and-only cultural offers, “a destination to enjoy fully because Cuba makes sense.”
