St Kitts to Host Cruise Conference, Tradeshow

The Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) opens its 12th Conference and Tradeshow on September 27 through 30 at the Marriott in the resort community of Frigate Bay on St. Kitts´ breezy east end.

The FCCA is a nonprofit trade organization made up of 13 Member Lines which operates over 100 vessels in Florida, the Caribbean and Mexican waters. Established back in 1972, the its mandate is to provide a forum for discussion on legislation, tourism development, ports, safety, security and other cruise industry issues.

By fostering an understanding of the cruise industry and its operating practices, the FCCA seeks to build cooperative relationships with Caribbean destinations and to develop productive bilateral partnerships with every sector in order to create a win-win situation for all.

Over the past several years, the conference has become extremely successful and, as in the past, will continue to provide an avenue for cruise industry partners to come together and exchange information and ideas through a number of interactive workshops.

This year´s Conference will also see a business card exchange cocktail party that will allow delegates to meet some of the industry´s top cruise executives and, there will be the popular informal breakouts (one-on-one meetings), which are always in very high demand, as such meetings provide delegates with the opportunity to get to meet face-to-face with the cruise executives of their choice and cultivate new relationships as well as to strengthen existing ones.

Officials in the St Kitts Tourism sector say they are delighted to be hosting this year´s conference and are promising a memorable four days on the island known to the world as the "Mother Colony of the West Indies" and home of the world famous Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, which is a "must see", and is now a World Heritage Site.
