St. Kitts to Host Tour Operator Symposium

To better promote the island as a top business and leisure destination and to educate tour operators from around the globe about what the island can offer, St. Kitts will be hosting a symposium for tour operators from Thursday, May 12 to Sunday, May 15, 2005.

During the four-day event, tour operators will participate in a marketplace for wholesalers, dinner receptions, brainstorming sessions, island news updates, one-on-one meetings with key tourism partners from St. Kitts, presentations from hotels, airlines, wholesalers and destination management companies, and have to opportunity to speak with Richard O. Skerritt, recently appointed as Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture.

The symposium is open to all qualified tour operators on a first-come, first served basis. Reservations are required by April 30, 2005. Interested parties should contact Ardis Bell at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority by sending an e-mail to ardis.bell@stkittstourism.kn or faxing Ardis at 1 (869) 465-8794.

Tour operators will be responsible for their own air arrangements. Accommodations, hotel tax and service charges as well as food and beverage charges are included. In addition, each participating tour operator will receive a customized manual to take home featuring a complete listing of all island hotels, attractions, tourism offices, trade shows, specialty programs and airline schedules from St. Kitts to keep them up-to-date on the island´s latest developments.
