St. Thomas & Prince to Attend FITUR for the First Time
The African country, St. Thomas & Prince will participate at FITUR for the first time, specifically at the next edition of the tourism fair, which is due to take place between January 30 and February 3, 2008.
In this respect, these islands off the African coast, located in the Gulf of Guinea, will boost the growing and significant international dimension at the fair, which brings together some 170 countries and regions.
The Ministry for Economic Affairs at St. Thomas & Prince, the country’s official representative at FITUR 2008, will be responsible for introducing tourism professionals to the most attractive corners and unexpected delights of the smallest African nation.
In this respect, it will present all the charms of towns such as St. Thomas, the capital of the island of the same name, which is located in the north-east part of the island and boasts a series of colonial buildings surrounded by green parks and gardens.
This small archipelago offers a cultural legacy inherited from both Portugal and Africa, some extraordinary coffee, some spectacular tropical natural expanses and crystal clear waters for bathing.
Furthermore, the Ministry will propose a diverse range of sporting activities at FITUR ‘08, such as snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing and trekking, activities that enable tourists to relax and enjoy a series of marvelous tropical landscapes.
The incorporation of the tourism products and services of St. Thomas & Prince at FITUR 2008 accompanies the first-time participation of other countries such as Madagascar, Greenland and Bhutan, thus confirming the considerable interest that new destinations arouse among Spanish tourists, as well as consolidating the fair’s role as a grand centre for business, a forum where participants can present their destinations and products, secure trade relations and establish numerous contacts.
