Tecnotur’2002 Fair in Havana’s Pabexpo focusing on technology applied to tourism

Havana._ With over 120 firms from nine countries, the 14th International Tradeshow of Technology and Products for the Tourist Industry -Tecnotur´2002- got underway Tuesday to come to a close Sunday in Havana’s Pabexpo fairgrounds.

The event gathers tourism’s potential suppliers, an economic sector whose growth is calling with each passing year for an ever-growing volume of high-tech products and services that can guarantee the continuation of investment programs and fresh cash flow for the industry’s development.

Wilma Sarria, an organizer of fairs and tradeshows, explained this year’s edition is marked by a best-assorted display of gourmet-related equipment and foodstuffs, especially those offers made by Cuba’s Ministry of Agriculture.

Almost all summoned themes will be present this time around. Cases in point are automated systems for different tourism-related presentations, equipment, swimming pool accessories, as well as audio and video systems among many other useful products and services that could render benefit for the leisure industry.

The presentation of a national network of technical services by CIMEX’s Technology Division –providing both the design and execution of different projects from civil construction all the way to full-fledged equipment purveyance- is one of the novelties in this year’s Tecnotur´2002.

TECUN’s brand-new cordless system for PC’s local networks will also be unveiled. The company will equally lay bare its experiences in using its own Web site whereby affiliates in the country’s provinces can download stock inventories.
