The tourism promotion board of the Riviera Maya to host Latin Jazz Festival

The Tourism Promotion Board of the Riviera Maya in conjunction with the Riviera Maya Hotel Association will host the Latin Jazz Festival November 13-15. The event take place in restaurants and hotels as well as at the Municipal Park in Playa del Carmen.

On Saturday November 15 the main concert with Caribbean Jazz Project, will take place in Playa del Carmen at 8:00 p.m. Caribbean Jazz Project’s latest album The Gathering was the recipient of the 2003 Grammy for best “Latin Jazz Album.”

Other groups performing on November 15 as part of the Latin Jazz Festival include La Reunion, a group led by Alejandro Folgarlos; MaJazz, a trio that plays Contemporary Nationalistic Jazz; Hiram Gomez & Friends, a jazz musician known for his versatility and consistency; Jazz Son Four, with Emmanuel Mora who began his solo career in 2001; and Marion Patron, who has played with well known national and international artists.

The seventy-five mile stretch, known as the Riviera Maya, is situated in the Mexican Caribbean on the coastline of the Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.

Served by all major airlines, the Riviera Maya begins eighteen miles south of the Cancun International Airport in Playa del Secreto and extends to Punta Allen, a small fishing village located within the Sian Ka´an Biosphere Reserve.
