Tourism Summit in Chile
The Third National Tourism Summit will take place in July 15 and 16 in Chile´s Viña del Mar under a slogan reading "Culture and Technology in the Globalization Era."
Planners are expecting a turnout of approximately some 500 entrepreneurs, let alone countless national and foreign experts that will focus on different topics and engage in exchanges on expertise, new ideas and experiences.
The event will be divided in two groups. The first group will zero in on Cultural Tourism from the viewpoint of special-interest tourism. The other group will work the kinks on the use of information technology tools to boost up this particular activity in the international market.
The second edition of the National Tourism Summit, successfully held last year in La Serena, centered on special-interest tourism and its different modalities.
On that occasion, attendants assessed Chile´s development potentials on the basis of the country´s natural beauty and its chances to get a tighter grip of the world travel market.
This time around, though, the event will pivot on the UNESCO-sponsored nomination of Valparaiso on its bid to be declared Cultural Heritage of Mankind, and the centennial birthday of Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda.
Figures bear out that Chile is making significant headway as a big travel destination among the world´s premier markets.
