TourismAfrica2006 to Get Underway in September

Supported by the main leading international institutions involved in tourism, development and the African continent (African Union, World Tourism Organization, UNCTAD, World Bank, African Development Bank, Geneva State), TourismAfrica2006 will gather in Geneva, Switzerland, the great majority of countries from the whole African continent from September 10 to 15.

This new international event dedicated to Africa´s tourism industry will offer the possibility for African countries on the one hand to promote and on the other to develop their tourism and for investors to seize the opportunities offered by the continent.

The event comprises three types of activities: the Congress placed under the patronage of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), the exhibition that will gather all the professionals concerned with tourism promotion and development, and the Business Development Center conceived in order to further high level targeted and customized meetings.

The latter are aimed towards the search of investments for projects and the establishment of new cooperation with the leading international tourist distribution specialists involved in the African continent.

The valorization of African patrimony and the development of a sustainable tourism will be central to TourismAfrica2006 activities with the active participation of the relevant institutions, such as UNESCO.

Experts from the artistic and cultural fields, the media and marketing industry as well as historians, archaeologists and writers will be actively participating in this event in order to emphasize on African countries´ dynamism, creativity and diversity.
