Tourist congress to gather 600 international delegates on Margarita Island

Margarita Island , Venezuela._ From May 13 through 17, Margarita Island will welcome 600 delegates from the tourist sector who will come to this insular region to attend the 45th Congress and Fair of the Confederation of Latin American Tourist Organizations (COTAL).

COTAL conceives tourism development for all Latin American countries and this time around it will bend over backwards to show international invitees the tourist charms this Venezuelan destination has to offer.

The conference zone at the Margarita Hilton Hotel will serve as both fairground and center for this meeting supported and sponsored by the Autonomous Institute and National Promotion and Training Fund for Tourist Participation (FONSOTURISMO) and by all attending delegations from Latin America.

Delegations from Europe, India and Egypt, among other countries, will take part in this event that, as COTAL Chairman Enzo Fumari puts it, stands for an ideal opportunity to strengthen receptive tourism in the nation as the conclave will gather participants from over 40 countries and 21 Latin American travel agency associations.

Mr. Fumari pointed out the program includes lectures in the morning sessions conducted by experienced high-ranking execs from the International Air Transport Association (LATA).

Among the most interesting activities to be held there, Spanish personalities will break down the strategies that have made the Iberian Peninsula the runner-up destination in tourist reception, second only to France.

The afternoon sessions will be devoted to the development of the fair itself, alongside tourist offices from Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic, the three of them represented by governmental organizations. In the case of Venezuela, the official sector will be accompanied by private enterprises that will trade on this occasion to advertise their products.
