TPC Golf Course to Open at Baha Mar Resort

The Baha Mar resort complex, due to open next spring in Nassau, Bahamas, will be home to a Tournament Players Club (TPC) golf course.

The TPC at Baha Mar, designed by Jack Nicklaus, will be the first TPC golf course in the Caribbean. TPC is a chain of courses operated by the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour.

The front nine holes will be highlighted by ocean views, while the back nine will wind through native habitat.

According to Baha Mar, course officials sought certification from the Audubon International Classic Program in recognition of responsible management of land, water, wildlife and other natural resources on the golf course grounds.

The course's salt-tolerant turf grass will be irrigated with treated water from the resort.

TPC in October opened its first course outside the U.S., the TPC Cartagena at Karibana in Cartagena, Colombia.
