T&T’s Tourism Operators Receive Training, First Aid Certification
The Small Tourism Enterprises Project (STEP) department of the Tourism Development Company (TDC) hosted a one-day First Aid Training Workshop for members of the Small Tourism Accommodation Owners of Trinidad and Tobago (STAOTT) and the Trinidad and Tobago Tourist Transport Services Association (TTTTSA) on Tuesday 18th August 2015 from 8am-4:30pm at the TDC’s head office in Barataria.
Completion of this workshop is a required component of the Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Industry Certification (TTTIC) program, which ensures that tourism operators and service providers in Trinidad and Tobago’s tourism sector conform to prescribed standards of quality in their operations.
The workshop was facilitated by the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society and educated participants on how to give appropriate care to a patient before certified medical attention is administered.
Targeting small tourism operators, STEP presents a comprehensive approach to addressing performance and profitability within the small tourism enterprise sector by offering training and certification in a range of areas including first aid, occupational health and safety, effective front desk techniques, information technology and defensive driving.
