Vancouver to Surpass $3.6 Billion Tourism Mark in 2014
Tourism in Vancouver is definitely on the rise. Each year sees a gain of 3.6 billion from tourism alone and it is believed by analysts that 2014 is going to be a very promising year from Vancouver.
The hotel stays have gone up by 8 percent and visitation has increased by 5.5 percent. Maximum visitors to Vancouver have been coming from China and not only from other parts of Canada and the United States. About 25 percent of the visitation comes from China.
The percentage had increased by a quarter in comparison to last year and China has taken over as the largest overseas market for Vancouver followed by UK.
The number of convections in Vancouver has also helped the city in building itself as a great tourism hub. TED Talks and Rendezvous Canada have brought dramatic difference to the Canadian tourism market. 68, 900 jobs have been generated in Vancouver thanks to the tourism industry alone.
