The second edition of EXPOBUCEO, the international dive event, will take place from June 29 to July 2 at the Plaza America Conference Center in Cuba´s Varadero. The gathering will provide a perfect setting for tour operators, travel agents, professional divers -both retired and active- marine biologists, scientists, underwater photographers, environmentalists and scuba diving students from around the world to huddle and talk about a variety of issues.

Varadero, Cuba´s premier sun-and-sand destination, will welcome attendants to the island nation´s biggest scuba diving event. This breathtaking 13-mile-long strip of beach boasts crystal-clear waters and powder-thin sands that offer visitors a warm breeze, perennial sunshine, gorgeous sea bottoms and the best conditions money can buy for scuba diving.

Participants to the EXPOBUCEO 2004 will discuss such topics as modern trends in the realm of scuba diving worldwide and the need to turn the Caribbean into a multi-destination choice for diving enthusiasts and underwater shutterbugs from elsewhere. With this view in mind, organizers have planned an assortment of master lectures, round tables and the unveiling of new products from the turf and overseas.

The Organizing Committee is also summoning attendants to take part in an underwater photographic and video contest. Locals and foreigners willing to sign up for the competition should submit their works before April 30.

Copyrights of contesting works will be fully passed on to the event´s Organizing Committee. Prizes and awards will be informed prior to the opening of EXPOBUCEO 2004 on Cuba´s tourism portal (www.cubatravel.com). Winners will be entitled to attend the event absolutely free with one companion.
